Whether you’re a one-person operation or a growing business with a full team, we’re here to help. Get in touch and let’s talk about what we can do for you.
IT support for businesses across the Cotswolds
We look after businesses in Cirencester, Tetbury, Malmesbury, Stow-on-the-Wold, Moreton-in-Marsh, Bourton-on-the-Water, Northleach, Fairford, Lechlade, Burford, Chipping Campden and the villages and estates between them.
We are based near Bristol. Almost everything gets fixed remotely, usually within minutes, which matters more out here than anywhere, because the alternative is somebody driving across a county. When a visit is genuinely the answer, we plan it so the trip is worth making.
Your current support is fine when you call, but nobody is watching anything between calls. Problems only get looked at once they have already stopped someone working.
You are paying for something, but you could not say what you actually get for it.
Everything on site runs through one connection and one network, and nobody can quite remember who set it up.
A regulator, an insurer or a client has started asking security questions you cannot confidently answer.
Your guests or visitors complain about the wifi, and it has become something you apologise for rather than something you offer.
Someone left eighteen months ago and you are fairly sure their login still works.
None of these are dramatic. They are just the sort of thing that quietly costs you an hour here and a morning there until it adds up to something you notice.
This is the thing that catches outside providers out. A twelve person firm working out of a converted barn outside Northleach can be handling money, client data and regulatory obligations identical to a firm occupying two floors in a city. The premises are charming and the compliance requirements are not negotiable. We see a lot of businesses here whose IT was specified for the building rather than for what the business actually does, and that gap is where problems live.
Estates and farm diversification create the other Cotswolds speciality, and it is a genuinely interesting one. A single site might now run the original farm, a shop, holiday lets, an events or wedding business, and a handful of office units let to unrelated tenants. In most cases all of that grew one piece at a time, which means it now runs through one connection and very often one flat network. Guests, tenants, staff, card payments and the business’s own files all sharing the same wifi, with nothing separating any of it. Each addition was sensible on its own. The combination is not. Splitting it up properly is usually a day’s work and it removes an entire category of risk nobody had quite articulated.
Guest wifi is a product rather than a courtesy. If you run a hotel, a wedding venue, holiday cottages or a destination shop, the connection is part of what people are paying for, and it needs capacity planning for the day two hundred people arrive rather than for the eight staff who are there on a Tuesday. It also needs keeping completely separate from everything that matters, which is the bit most often missed.
Getting infrastructure into these buildings takes planning in both senses. Listed status, conservation areas and National Landscape designation all limit what can physically be installed and where, and lead times on anything that needs permission are long. The practical answer is to find out what is possible early, rather than discovering the constraint the week you need the solution.
Businesses out here are often twenty minutes from their nearest neighbour and an hour from their accountant. Support that depends on turning up does not work. Support that is genuinely remote, backed by monitoring that catches problems before anyone notices them, works perfectly well.
We look after the whole thing so you do not have to think about it.
Monitoring and maintenance that happens in the background, so most faults are dealt with before anyone reports them.
A helpdesk your team can contact Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, staffed by people who know your setup rather than reading from a script.
Networks separated properly, so guests, tenants, payment systems and your own business are not all sharing the same space. Wifi designed for the building and the busiest day it will have, rather than for the corner the router happened to end up in.
Security that stands up to scrutiny, including the questions regulators, insurers and clients increasingly ask. We are Cyber Essentials certified and hold ISO 9001 and ISO 27001.
Backup and recovery that has been tested, with copies held somewhere other than the room the original is in.
Starters and leavers handled properly, so new people can work on day one and old accounts actually close.
On-site visits when something genuinely needs hands on it.
Help with the third party software you rely on. We will talk to your line of business supplier so you do not have to sit in the middle translating.
Essential is where most businesses here land. It covers the monitoring, the security and the support without paying for things you will not use.
Professional is the right answer if you are regulated, handle client money or sensitive personal data, or deal with clients whose own compliance teams ask detailed questions. There are more businesses like that tucked away in Cotswolds villages than most people would guess.
Starter suits smaller teams who need the basics done properly and nothing more.
On-Demand is there if you would rather pay as you go and have a known team to call than hold ongoing cover.
Everything is per computer, per month, on a rolling monthly contract. No long tie in. If you are not sure which one fits, we will tell you, including when the answer is the cheaper one.

Key Features
Not every business is ready for a managed IT contract — and sometimes you just need help with a specific problem. On-Demand IT Support gives you access to WDYG’s engineers on a pay-as-you-go basis. No retainer, no minimum commitment, no monthly bill — just expert IT support billed in 15-minute blocks.
Key Features
We work on priority instead. If your whole site is down, that goes to the front of the queue. If someone needs a second monitor setting up, it gets done properly but it does not jump ahead of a business that cannot trade.
Our support hours are Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm. If your business runs beyond those hours, and plenty of hospitality and events businesses here do, cover for that is something we agree in advance and set up deliberately, rather than something either of us finds out about at 9pm on a Saturday.
People put this off because they imagine a bad week. It is not that.
First we have a conversation about what you have and what annoys you about it. No charge, no obligation.
Then we audit what is actually there, which on a site that has grown in stages is usually quite revealing.
We tell you what we found, what needs doing now, what can wait and what does not need doing at all.
We take over monitoring and support quietly in the background, usually without your team noticing anything other than that the helpdesk number has changed.
Then we work through the fixes in a sensible order, starting with whatever is most likely to cause you a bad day.
Most of our clients say the handover week was quieter than they expected.
Who We Help
Businesses across the Cotswolds come to us at every size and stage. There’s more detail on how we work with different kinds of organisation, by business size, by IT maturity and by sector.
Common questions
We’ve compiled the questions we’re asked most often by businesses in the Cotswolds. If yours isn’t here, please get in touch.
The Cotswolds broadly, including Cirencester, Tetbury, Malmesbury, Stow-on-the-Wold, Moreton-in-Marsh, Bourton-on-the-Water, Northleach, Fairford, Lechlade, Burford, Chipping Campden and the surrounding villages.
No. Almost everything we do is remote and works the same wherever you are. Out here that is a feature rather than a compromise, because waiting for someone to drive to you is the slow option even when they are closer than we are.
Yes, and it is worth looking at properly. Separating the different parts so guests, tenants, payments and your own work are not all on one network is usually quick to do and removes a lot of risk at once.
It limits what can be physically installed and it affects timescales, but it rarely limits the outcome. The important thing is to establish early what is allowed so you are not waiting on permission at the worst possible moment.
Yes, and it is usually a design problem rather than a spending problem. Coverage needs planning for the building and for your busiest day, and guest access needs keeping entirely separate from everything else.
No. We look after businesses with a handful of computers and businesses with well over a hundred. The approach is the same, the package is different.
Not necessarily. Plenty of our clients have someone internal who handles day to day issues and uses us for monitoring, security, out of the ordinary problems and the things nobody wants to be the only person who understands.
Yes, and we would rather do that than have you relay messages between two technical teams. We will speak to them directly.
We have a marketing team that handles web development, so if you need that side of things too, it stays under one roof.
Then that is where we start. Connections vary enormously across the Cotswolds, sometimes between neighbouring villages. We will tell you honestly what you have, what it can carry and what your realistic options are.
No. Rolling monthly contracts. If we are not doing a good job, you should be able to leave.
Take our two minute IT health quiz and get an honest read on where you stand. No sales call attached.
Or just talk to us. Tell us what is annoying you about your IT and we will tell you whether we can help, and whether it is worth doing.
I cannot praise the team at WDYIT enough. They are incredibly responsive, reliable, and a pleasure to work with. We have been collaborating with them for over 10 years and highly recommend their services!
