Whether you’re a one-person operation or a growing business with a full team, we’re here to help. Get in touch and let’s talk about what we can do for you.
IT support for businesses where downtime is measured in departments, not people.
At this size you’re a serious business with serious dependencies. A system going down doesn’t inconvenience someone, it stops a floor working. Your customers run security questionnaires before they’ll sign. Your insurer wants evidence rather than assurances. And somebody, usually reluctantly, has to put a number on IT risk for the board. This page is about what changes at 50-250 people, and what good looks like when you get there.
You’ve probably got someone internal now, an IT manager or a small team, and they’re good. They’re also stretched. They know your systems better than anyone and spend most of their week on password resets, new starters and whatever broke this morning, rather than the roadmap they were hired to build.
Meanwhile the demands have grown up. A tender asks for Cyber Essentials Plus. A customer sends a forty question supply chain security assessment. Finance asks why the Microsoft bill has gone up twice this year and nobody can fully explain it. Somebody notices that the leavers process works for accounts but not for the three line of business systems that sit outside it.
None of this is dramatic. It’s the accumulated weight of a business that grew faster than its IT processes, and at your scale it gets expensive quietly.
At 50-250 people, the two things that cost you are slow response and no plan. One hurts today, the other hurts in eighteen months.
When something urgent sits in a queue, it isn’t one frustrated person. A locked account in the middle of a month end, a shared system down for an afternoon, a site that can’t reach its files: each of those stalls a department and lands on somebody’s productivity numbers. Your best people notice it first and complain about it least, which is worse.
The second cost is harder to see. Without a roadmap, you find out your infrastructure is out of support when a renewal lands, you discover a compliance gap when a customer asks, and you buy in a hurry at the worst possible price. Reactive IT at this scale isn’t just slow, it’s more expensive.
Businesses your size need both halves. Support that recognises what’s urgent and acts on it, rather than treating every ticket the same. And a plan: what gets replaced when, what it costs, what risks you’re carrying, and what you’d need to do to pass the next audit. That plan is what turns IT from an unpredictable cost into a managed one.
We work on priority rather than fixed SLA response times. When something is stopping a department working, it goes to the front of the queue, not into a contractual clock that says four hours. Unlimited support with no ticket caps, so nobody on your team rations what they report or talks up a problem to get it seen.
Lifecycle planning for devices and infrastructure, licensing reviewed rather than renewed, budget you can forecast, and a risk picture you can take to the board. Reviewed with you regularly, not filed and forgotten.
Enforced multi-factor authentication, conditional access, endpoint protection, threat detection, and backup covering cloud and server. Plus the documentation to answer a customer questionnaire, an insurer, or an auditor with facts rather than hope.
Where you have internal IT, we co-manage. They keep the business knowledge and the relationships; we bring the tooling, the specialist security work, the overnight cover and the capacity when a project lands.
Two minutes, a handful of questions, and a straight answer – including if that answer is “you don’t need much”. No sales call at the end unless you ask for one.
We could list all four packages and let you work it out. Here’s what we’d actually say if you rang us.
At your scale, certification has usually stopped being optional. Cyber Essentials appears in tenders, supply chain questionnaires and insurance renewals, and being unable to answer costs you work rather than just credibility. Professional includes the certification tools and support rather than leaving you to arrange it in a hurry
It also gives you the strongest security stack we offer, which matters differently at two hundred users than at twenty. More people means more devices, more logins, more third party systems and more places a single mistake can spread. The protection has to be layered and it has to be evidenced.
If certification genuinely isn’t a requirement for you, Essential covers the fundamentals well: complete cloud and email security, real Microsoft 365 backup, device security and Microsoft 365 Business Premium. We’d still want a conversation about what your customers are likely to ask for in the next year.
If you’ve already got security and Microsoft 365 handled elsewhere, Starter gives you unlimited support and core device protection on its own. Worth a conversation first, because at your size we’d want to check what “handled” actually means.
The Professional IT Support Service is for businesses that want the best — complete IT support, the strongest security we offer, and Cyber Essentials tools and certification support all in one package. If you need to protect your reputation, meet compliance requirements, and have confidence your IT is in safe hands, this is it.
Key Features
Every package is unlimited support with no ticket caps and no per-incident charges. Rolling monthly terms are available, longer terms carry a discount, and not-for-profit pricing applies across the range.
Ask how they prioritise, not what their SLA says. A response time target tells you when someone will acknowledge a ticket. It tells you nothing about whether the right thing gets fixed first.
Enforced multi-factor authentication, conditional access, permissions that match your org chart, and an offboarding process that reaches every system rather than just Microsoft 365.
So that knowledge doesn’t live in one person’s head, and so a holiday, a resignation or an incident doesn’t become a crisis.
Covering Microsoft 365, servers and line of business systems. An untested backup is a plan, not a protection.
Knowing what needs replacing when, and what you’re paying for that nobody uses. At your headcount this is real money.
When a customer, insurer or auditor asks how you handle security, the answer should be a document, not a conversation.
Moving IT provider at 50-250 people sounds like a project nobody wants to own. Done properly it’s a sequence of planned steps, most of which your team never sees.
Devices, licences, access, backups, infrastructure age, and what’s genuinely protected versus what only looks it. You get the findings in writing whether or not you go ahead, and they’re usually worth having on their own.
Who does what, in what order, and what happens if something goes wrong. Agreed with you and with your internal IT team before anything changes.
Monitoring, security and backup first, then department by department. No big bang weekend, no day where the whole business is holding its breath.
Once you’re stable, the roadmap starts: lifecycle, budget, certification, and the things your team has been meaning to get to for two years.
Questions businesses at this scale ask us
Co-manage. Your team keeps the business knowledge, the relationships and the decisions. We bring the security tooling, the specialist work, the out of hours and holiday cover, and the capacity when a project lands. Most internal IT people we work with wanted this years ago.
Yes, and it’s one of the most common reasons businesses your size call us. We work through what’s true today, what needs fixing, and how to evidence it, rather than helping you write optimistic answers.
It depends on where you’re starting, and we’ll tell you honestly after an audit. Certification support is included in our Professional package, and as an NCSC Assured Service Provider and IASME certified Cyber Advisor we take you through the whole process.
Yes. Multi-site access, consistent security policy across locations and remote workers, and support that doesn’t depend on which office someone happens to be in.
No. Plenty of businesses your size have good reasons for on-premise systems, and we support servers alongside cloud. We’ll also tell you honestly when something is nearing the end of its life and what the options cost.
Standard support is Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, with out of hours cover available by arrangement. At your size it’s worth a proper conversation about what you actually need rather than buying cover for its own sake.
Usually, yes. At your headcount licence drift is one of the biggest avoidable costs we find: duplicated tools, licences for people who left, and higher tiers than anyone needs. It’s part of the audit.
We’re based in Bristol and work across Bath, Cheltenham, Gloucester, Somerset and Swindon, with remote support anywhere in the UK.
We don’t work to fixed SLA response times, and that’s deliberate. A service level agreement treats every ticket as a clock: a major outage and a slow printer both get the response time somebody wrote into a contract. We work on priority instead. If your issue is urgent, it’s treated as urgent, straight away, ahead of whatever else is in the queue. If it isn’t, it gets done properly rather than rushed to hit a target. The practical difference is that nobody has to argue their way up a priority ladder to be taken seriously.
You’d be in good company. We support growing businesses across Bristol, Bath, Cheltenham, Gloucester, Somerset and Swindon, and we’re an NCSC Assured Service Provider, Cyber Essentials Plus certified, and ISO 9001 and ISO 27001 accredited. The same standards our largest customers audit us against, applied to a team of thirty just as carefully.
If you’re not ready to talk to anyone yet, the buyer’s guide covers what to look for and what to avoid. If you are, we’ll give you a straight answer, including if that answer is that you’re fine as you are.
There is nothing more annoying than an IT glitch that stops you working efficiently. However, knowing you have access to immediate attention to the glitch and a solution to it, is very reassuring and that is provided by We Do Your IT. We have so appreciated the availability and response given by the team at We Do Your IT, enabling us to remain a productive firm.
